The way you dress is always a great way to express your mood, become a trendsetter, and feel more confident. One of the best ways to emphasize a look or make it feel complete is to accessorize. Let's be honest, sometimes you can have the perfect outfit, but something feels missing; that's when accessories come to the rescue. Here's a list of a few of my favorite accessories that can pull an outfit from something to everything!

If there's one thing that I know can really help me feel confident in what I'm wearing, it's adding a necklace to my ensemble. Suppose you're rocking your favorite all-black ensemble, but want to add a dazzling element. In that case, a necklace is a superb way to change the styling of what you're wearing. Whether a chain or a giant butterfly in the center, a necklace is a perfect eye catcher and a simple way to style an outfit. But for those who don't need any extra help with catching eyes with their ensemble. In colors of silver, gold, bronze, and more and styles of chains beaded, or string, there are a plethora of options you can decide on that will help an outfit be more unique to you.

I am starting to love hats! As the weather is getting warmer over here and sunblock has to be applied, hats are more than an accessory. But for this instance, it's the perfect accessory to have on any occasion. I am very envious of those who don't have a bad hair day. But I know I can always rely on my favorite hat to help cover the mess, but it can also help an outfit elevate into a new style.
I could be in the mood for a sporty style or even a basic outfit of jeans and a t-shirt, and I know a baseball cap can complete my look. Or even if it's ladies' brunch day and I want to keep things casual, I always know a stylish sun hat or bucket hat will have me posing for pictures. Not only are hats beneficial for keeping the sun off your face, but the different styles and patterns all have a way to make you feel like you're back in the 90s or ready to face the day ahead.

Sunglasses are a perfect styling accessory on your face or on top of your head. I don't know about you, but I am the type to style sunglasses even if there is no physical need for them. The shapes, sizes, colors, and designs make sunglasses extremely versatile that they can go with just about anything. Black shades can go with anything, but having shades in green or purple can add that splash of color to become an eyecatcher and fulfill an outfit.
My favorite way to style them came from inspiration from one of my friends, wearing sunglasses as a headband. It looks natural and stylish, a two-in-one deal! You can style sunglasses in the evening; you can style them at night. Sunglasses are perfect for any style and your sight (I had to add a rhyme)!
There are more accessories that I love. Rings, belts, headbands, scarves, earrings, there's a list! Because of the different styles and patterns of all these accessories, there are multiple ways you can style an outfit or just emphasize it with a simple accessory.

We all have our favorite pair of black bottoms that we go to. Styling an outfit with a black bottom is fun because of the many ways you can accessorize it and pair it with a nice top or overcoat. Black bottoms are versatile in anything from comfy casual to business casual. The ripped black jean look is always a go-to casual look but adds an edge to what you're wearing. But even your basic black jeans can be turned into a business casual look with a simple blazer or button-down. Even wearing your 'professional" or "work" bottoms that can be styled with your preferred t-shirt can elevate your ensemble into something new and trendy.

Have you ever had too many tops but always go to whatever is black? There are new designs to tops nowadays that you just want them all! Having any kind of black top can elevate your look regardless of whether it's a simple spaghetti strap, a black t-shirt (graphic or plain, either are great options) off the shoulder, long sleeve, or turtleneck. There are endless options for styling them based on their cut, length, sheer or thickness, size, and more. The black top can also play as an accessory to the rest of the ensemble. It can be styled with an outerwear garment, tucked into your bottoms; depending on the cut, it can also showcase a fashionable necklace or scarf. The possibility of finding a new style suited for you is as simple as starting with a black top.

Heels, boots, sandals, sneakers, oh my! Shoes are an essential part of an ensemble. We've seen in previous trends that wearing your comfiest sweatpants but worn with your favorite stiletto boot is a popular style. Stylists nowadays say that the first part of forming their outfits is deciding what shoes they want to wear. Even if you have a personal style and want to switch it up, trying a new pair of shoes will work. Again, with black being worn with anything, black shoes can be found in any shoe style with a plethora of patterns, textures, shapes, and more. If you're in the mood for wearing your designer sneakers or a slip-on flat, black shoes can both help elevate but also not take away from the rest of your ensemble. It's like having that one thing you know can't go wrong.

An accessory is more than just your favorite hoops, rings, necklaces, and more. The way you style your hair, paint your nails, what bag you wear, and a multitude more are all important accessories. One thing about a black accessory is that wearing it gives you so much confidence and mental wealth that you'll be unstoppable. An example is a black bag. Big or small, wide or slim, strap or not, a black bag can help elevate a look to the next level even if it stays tucked under your arm or by your hip. The many designs a black accessory can have in shapes and patterns provide a continual selection of ways to decorate your outfit. A perfect example is a black bag. Once you go black, you can't go back, and that's a fact! Whether it be a black scarf you wear around your neck, a plain or decorated black top, sunglasses on your head in place of a headband, or your favorite black ripped jeans, having a black article of clothing is a perfect way to add extra pizazz in your attire. If your outfit is all black or you add a piece of black clothing, what you wear will still be flawless. There are countless ways to style yourself in anything black because of its versatility and abundance of designs that you can find in it. The main thing is to stay confident in what you wear and how you wear it!

A garment is considered vintage if created back in the early 1900s and before. Diving into the history of fashion, fashion was always a key element in determining and dividing social classes and roles. In the past, what you wore determined your social status and wealth; however, today, vintage takes on a new history. In modern times, styling yourself in vintage fashion shows your unique and creative skills in styling and expressing yourself. With multiple vintage garments available in stores and online, finding one to fit your style adds to the success you feel when you find the perfect outfit to wear.
During my time in my undergrad, I took a beginner-level fashion class. Our quarter-long project was to find and reconstruct a vintage garment. I took a vintage coat and constructed it into a cropped puffer jacket. Although I got my degree in writing, it was still a memorable experience to create something new and personalize it to my style. Before taking that class, vintage garments have always been more than just a fashion garment, but a collectible. Being able to say you have something dated back feels right. With the rise of vintage garments worn in today's fashion realm, no longer will your vintage garment be a collectible but a fashion statement.
A simple Google search of the word vintage, and there are a plethora of options you can click on to find and shop for vintage garments. Even though Instagram's new shop option or on someone's page, you can find many second-hand or curated thrift shops and brands. Social media hype and thrifting contribute to the resurrection of vintage clothing and how it became a type of clothing you want to have in your closet. These page owners or brand owners make it easier for you to have multiple options to look for when finding a vintage garment to fit your style. Whether it be a skirt, jacket, scarf, vest, or ore, there is something out there that will scream, "BUY ME" because it's perfect for you.
What's there not to love about vintage fashion? Having a vintage garment is like wearing all black but adding that pop of color to it. There are endless possibilities of styling a vintage garment with what you already own. The durability of these garments is a bonus because it's safer for the environment because you're recycling and not adding to the many clothes thrown out and wasted. Plus, why throw away something rich in history? Being able to date back a garment you own and knowing its history is one of the many perks of having something vintage.
With the rise in popularity, social media has also made finding that piece that's right for you and helped elevate a new style to discover and treasure. No longer is it just out with the old and in with the new, but grab more old and make it unique.

2021 was the year of stylish yet affordable looks with a touch of genius. And what better representative for this trend than the hoody under blazer style? Cool, practical, fun, and so easy to pull off, the combination is practically indestructible. No fashion critic can deny its charm and personality. Even your favorite celebrities couldn’t stay away. Just take a look at Hailey Bieber or Kendall Jenner! Wear your cozy hoodie under a slim blazer, preferably without graphics, or, if you are daring enough, opt for an oversized hoodie. Pair the mix with skinny jeans, and you’ll be trending in 2022!
Cut-outs were big in 2021, and it seems the trend will continue to be a hit in 2022. So, keep your asymmetrical cut-out tops and sexy midi dresses because you'll need them as soon as the sun shines bright and the birds start singing again. Wear your cut-out top with a pair of jeans – skinny! Or choose a leather skirt for a “roar” look. Want to try something new? Mix your casual pieces with evening wear by throwing in denim in any shape or size. Get ready to embrace those sexy slices of fabric and wear them with grace. Moreover, 2022 is determined to invite us to be more daring with ovary cut-outs and hole punched clothes. Try them all! See what fits best, assume your personal style, and take over the fashion world.
Comfortable and sexy, oversized bomber jackets are the new black in fashion. They go well with everything as long as they rest nonchalantly at your hip. This is the ideal size if you want to achieve perfection! Also, make sure the clingy cuffs stay above your wrists and are relatively tight. Choose neutral colors for a touch of class and infinite mixing and matching possibilities. You can wear your oversized bomber jacket with a pair of ripped jeans and booties in bold colors, leggings, and sneakers, or with a knit mini dress for casual sexiness. It is pretty difficult to bomb your outfit with an oversized bomber jacket but, of course, anything is possible if you put your mind to it!
2021 was the year when mixing and matching took fashion to new heights and reinvented styles. 2022 will be the much-awaited sequel, and the clash of prints will continue to inspire and delight. You can mix stripes with snakeskin and geometric patterns with multicolor prints. Everything goes! For extra sophistication and originality, try out African prints and mix them as your heart desires. Aya Morrison has reinvented the traditional African prints and brought them into contemporaneity without compromising their authentic backbone. Discover an extravaganza of patterns, and don’t be afraid to be the pop of color the world so desperately needs. Try to break up the clash with a solid color that can be either a black trench coat or a navy-blue vest to balance the look and end the battle on a peaceful note.
Don’t be afraid to step out of your comfortable sneakers and oversized denim pair of pants and land right into a pair of over-the-knee boots gloriously matched with an oversized blazer. Any self-respecting fashionista has an over-the-knee boot and 2021 sort of forced you to invest in an oversized blazer anyway. Mix them like there’s no tomorrow and experience what a rockstar feels on stage! You can complete your combination with a mini skirt or flirty shorts while creating a spectacular look and the illusion of never-ending legs. If you’re going for bold boots in Lurex or animal print, it would probably be a good idea to quiet down the ensemble with minimalist accessories.
The fashion industry seems to be enamored with puff sleeves. Whether you have bought a puff-sleeved top for the cool summer days or a cozy puff-sleeve sweater for cute winter outfits, you will be glad to know you'll have plenty of opportunities to wear your supersize sleeves in the year to come as this is one of the biggest trends of 2022. Match your diaphanous silky balloon puff sleeve top with a scarf for a fresh look or wear your white puff sleeve top collar sweater with a white midi skirt and brown boots for an elegant contrast. For a romantic escapade, the Xena puffy long-sleeved dress is exactly what the fashion critic prescribed. Perfection and a bit more!
Back in the 90s, every teenage girl asked for a pair of tractor sole boots! It was a must-have and an extraordinary investment piece. Fast forward to 2019, and the tractor sole boots are making a comeback! Gigi Hadid and Kaia Gerber wore tractor tread flats on the Prada AW19 runaway and opened the door for chunky boots to take over the world. 2021 was the year of the designer tractor sole boots with everyone showing off the chunkiest boots the catwalk has ever seen. Balenciaga ruled supreme with their tractor-trek sole boots, but you can find the boots reinvented by every big and small designer out there. Your tractor boots make a dream team with a long dress or a tiny, mini, super-short skirt, but nobody can stop you from pairing them with slouchy sweatpants or leggings and oversized baggy shirts if your heart so desires! And yes, they are hot and will continue to be so in 2022!
If you want to keep it simple and not put too much thought into your next winter outfit, go with a shearling jacket. You can pretty much wear it with anything – a pair of jeans, black pants, combat boots, or knee-high boots. Be bold and match it with a pair of leather pants for an extra something or go classy and wear it with a print dress! You’re ready to go anywhere! And you’re all set to win the war against the nasty cold!
Little Red Riding Hood made history with her…red riding hood, so there must be something there! How about this winter you add a bit of fun to your wardrobe and invest in a red hooded poncho? You will look mesmerizing, especially if you wear it with a pair of skinny jeans and pointe-toe black leather boots. Absolutely charming without compromising your normal body temperature! It’s a win-win for sure!
Yes, we all love beanies, especially when it's below freezing outside. Bear Grylls told us to make sure we keep our heads warm in cold weather to avoid freezing to death, but he never said we must do this with a beanie. So, how about a fedora hat, preferably in an autumn red – to confuse winter a bit! – matched with a blue denim jacket and a country-style dress. We know! You might say it is too cold for a dress. But is it really? You can wear it with black tights and knee-length boots. Add a heavy knit scarf for extra cuteness and coziness, and you’ve got yourself one must-have winter outfit!
When in doubt, always go with the “I don’t care!” look! And what better way to achieve such a praiseworthy ideal than with a quilted jacket and cargo pants. They could be brown, they could be blue, they could be anything you like, but we recommend them to be beige for extra nonchalance. And they should definitely be oversized for comfort and extra space for layers. Add a pair of combat boots or any other type of chunky footwear you have in your closet, and there you have it! Throw on a pair of sunglasses and you’ll be the perfect example of coolness overloaded!
If you’re in the mood for a playful look that will cheer up everyone around you, we suggest you go all teddy bear and wear a teddy sweatshirt dress! Just take a look at how cute and fluffy they are. Made from cotton for extra comfort and recycled polyester because we know you want to save the planet. A teddy sweatshirt goes perfectly with slouchy boots or your favorite pair of ankle boots. Whether you opt for the mocha brown teddy sweatshirt dress or the grey bundle of fluffiness, you’ll look precious, and, more importantly, you will feel warm and loveable. Fluffy is always fashionable! Ask anyone.
We think everyone agrees you can never go wrong with a black leather jacket regardless of the season, style, or occasion. Leather jackets are cool and no one can say differently. Now, how to wear it on a cold winter day to make sure you…won’t freeze your behind off? Pair it with an oversized sweater (not the bulky type though!) and a pair of blue jeans. Finish the ensemble with a pair of over-the-knee boots, preferably black for an elegant contrast with the jeans. Add a beanie and a pair of sunglasses and…look at you! The coolest of them all on a cool winter day!
If it’s winter, it’s knitting season. If grandma is keeping busy on TikTok instead of knitting key pieces for your wardrobe, you can always “settle” for a gorgeous heavy knit sweater found in shops. Make it as heavy and long as possible, and pair it with black jeans or black leather leggings for that extra touch of style. But that’s not all! Take your winter outfit to new heights with a pair of white trainers. Yes, you read that right! Just try it. You’ll never want to accessorize this outfit with anything other than white trainers. Just make sure it isn’t snowing outside.
White jeans, sweaters, dresses, and everything else you can think of worthy of the color white are not only appropriate for pool parties and vacations. After all, they aren’t called winter whites for nothing. Take the ski culture to the streets, and don’t be afraid to wear your white cardigan, tailored trousers, or wool coat. Be the non-color in a world of browns and greys and wear a crisp snow-white turtleneck or chunky jumper with a pair of straight-leg jeans – also white! It doesn’t have to be the purest white of them all. As a matter of fact, it’s best to choose ivory, off-white, or luxe cream for more sophistication. Don’t forget about your white knit beanie and low-top trainers. You are good to go! Go, go and make the world a brighter and lighter place!
]]>Fast fashion focuses on making clothes that can be sold in high volumes for low prices. People find cheap clothes irresistible, so they never think twice before buying ten pairs of jeans and a dozen new t-shirts or sweaters. Why would they? The concept of ethical fashion is not as popular as recycling, electrical cars, or solar energy. But it should be! 10% of global carbon emissions and 20% of wastewater come from fashion companies. The environmental impact of fast fashion is colossal!
Just think about the complex supply chains involved in materials production, preparation, processing, and transporting a new coat to the mall near you. Take jeans, for example! According to Levi Strauss, a pair of its 501 jeans produces the equivalent of 33.4 kg of carbon dioxide. A third of these emissions come from fiber and fabric production. The rest is divided among cutting, sewing, and finishing the jeans (8%), transport and retail accounts (16%), and consumer use – washing and disposal (40%). Consumers play an important part in the damage fast fashion does to the environment. However, this can change! Consumers can make better choices, encourage sustainable fashion, and impact the future of fashion and, consequently, the future of our planet.
You probably already have a wardrobe full of clothes that, at some point, you couldn’t wait to buy or wear. Rediscover your wardrobe and value the clothes you already have. Mix and match them more creatively and give a second chance to clothes you haven’t worn in a while. Style them with different accessories or, if you’re talented at DIY, reinvent them.
Learn how to fix and patch your clothes, and don’t throw them away as soon as they start to show signs of wear. Upgrade your sewing skills and give a new life to your old clothes. You spent money on every single piece of clothing you own. Whenever you’re throwing away clothes, you’re throwing money out the window. Refrain from shopping impulsively and think twice before hitting that add to cart button. Do you really need that new piece of clothing, or are you buying it simply because it’s cheap or on sale?
Learn how to extend the life of a garment and take good care of them in a sustainable manner. Start by using your dryer as rarely as possible and only when it’s absolutely necessary. Hanging out your clothes to dry in the sun and wind does wonders for both your clothes and the environment. Dry delicates flat and turn the colorful pieces of clothing inside-out to prevent them from fading. Always read the washing instructions available on the label and if the clothes can be washed in cold water, choose this option. Washing your clothes in cold water saves energy, reduces your electricity bills, and extends the life of your clothes.
Don’t hesitate to use the “eco” setting of your washing machine. It does exactly what it says: it helps you save water and power and protects the environment. Also, don’t wash your clothes too often! Jeans can go unwashed even for six months if they aren’t worn daily. Sure, your underwear and socks need to be washed after just one wear, but the sweater you wore for only a few hours has more hours to go before throwing it into the washing machine.
Learn to appreciate quality over quantity and start investing in your clothes rather than buying them impulsively. Fashion should no longer be a hobby based on mindless shopping. Analyze your lifestyle and wardrobe and identify what is truly missing from it. Shop only clothes you need and are going to wear multiple times. If you are not sure you will wear a garment at least 30 times, don’t buy it.
Don’t buy anything based on your first impulses. Think it through! You can even sleep on it. If you still want to purchase that piece of clothing the next morning, go for it. High-quality clothing costs more but it is made from natural fibers, like linen, hemp, cotton, and silk, and it will last longer than fast fashion clothes. Try to avoid polyester and other synthetic fabrics that are not biodegradable, harm the ocean, and have been associated with health issues.
When you buy responsibly produced clothing you are supporting ethical standards, environmental standards, and fair working conditions. You help the global community and the environment while enjoying original designs and the result of slow and ethical fashion. Slow fashion allows consumers to establish a connection with the maker and enjoy their clothes for a longer time. Ethical fashion gives you an insight into the brand’s policies and allows you to choose a brand that resonates with your views, ethics, and style. Ethical production practices never allow for exploitation, always implement safe working conditions, and guarantee fair wages.
When buying from ethical clothing brands, you’ll get access to made-to-order models and limited clothing lines, improve your style, and encourage originality. Moreover, most ethical brands promote the use of eco-friendly materials, don’t use any animal products, and are involved in various projects that encourage the development of the ethical fashion industry, fair living wages, and, in general, have a positive impact on their community.
When possible, it's also helpful to buy locally. Shopping for local responsibly manufactured clothing cuts down the distance your clothes have to travel to get to you which means lower carbon emissions. However, sustainable shopping doesn’t necessarily exclude shopping for clothes from international stores. There are numerous brands overseas that take pride in their sustainable production and run their business based on ethical practices. These aspects make them a lot more sustainable than the brands you can find in the local mall.
Aya Morrison wants to be a part of the solution and is determined to take all the necessary steps towards sustainability. Our company ensures sustainable practices, and many of our collections contain pieces made with recycled materials. Moreover, we are dedicated to establishing a relationship with our consumers and are transparent about our policies and production. We want our clothes to be more than just another garment bought in the spur of the moment. We hope our collections inspire our consumers and find their place in their wardrobe as a statement of their originality, creativity, style, and, of course, commitment to practicing sustainable fashion.

Gen Z needs to reconsider its attitude towards skinny jeans because these jeans will never ever go out of fashion. At least as long as Millennials still roam the Earth. Match your black jeans with a plaid long button-down shirt, and you’ve got yourself a cute casual outfit with a touch of sexiness. Don’t think that you need to show skin to turn heads. An oversized flannel highlights your femininity and helps you feel all warm and cozy!
No fall wardrobe is complete without a few cozy sweaters! Match your favorite knit sweaters with jeans – blue, black, skinny, boyfriend, it doesn’t really matter! You’ll look pretty while feeling comfortable and warm. What more can you wish for? You can try matching your cozy sweater with a silk skirt if you’re going for class with a touch of extravagance. Just make sure the weather is appropriate!
There’s no better time to wear those sexy leather pants calling your name from the closet than fall! Take them for a walk and match them with a white shirt and a blazer! The perfect combination for a workday or, for sipping a coffee and checking your emails at the nearby coffee shop. Do you want to make a statement? Opt for baggy leather pants. They seem a bit more difficult to wear, but we guarantee you they’re not.
Whether you want to look elegant wearing a ruffle skirt and a shirt, romantic in a flowy dress, or smart casual in jeans and a cropped top, you'll never go wrong with throwing a trench coat over your ensemble. Entrench your looks, and you will look classy when you go to work, out with your friends, or at a rendezvous with your new crush. Every wardrobe should have a classically tailored trench for autumnal days, especially if you don’t mind a bit of Frenchness to your look.
Just before all leaves fall and the cold settles in, you’ll have a small window when you can wear your lovely dresses with a pair of booties. Take advantage of it and wear summer dresses a little longer! Pair them with boots and, if you’re feeling a bit chilly, throw on an oversized cardigan. You can try a head-to-toe black look and a pair of floral booties for a pop of color. Cuteness reinvented!
This outfit calls for all the fashion icons out there and women who are not afraid to be original! Your button-down shirt will suddenly be infused with new life when paired with a shimmering sequin skirt. Whether you wear the outfit at a cocktail party or the office, this is one look that will never go unnoticed. Don’t be afraid to accessorize your outfit with an elegant pearl necklace and choose a pair of heels to flatter the ensemble but keep the spotlight on your sequin skirt.
Sneakers are no longer reserved only for your training and jogging sessions. They now go with everything, including elegant oversized suits. Add a white tee under your blazer, and you’ll look smart, casual, elegant, and everything in between. The outfit is versatile due to its minimalist lines and will attract hundreds of likes on your Instagram page. Try it, and you’ll never want to wear your suits with anything else but cute sneakers.
Show off your wild side in a pair of ripped jeans (skinny!) worn with a simple white t-shirt and an animal print cardigan. Fall looks have always been known to favor long cardigans and skinny jeans, but you can take your elegance to the next level with an animal print design. Animal prints are no longer reserved for eccentrics. Some say they are the new neutrals, so don’t be afraid to wear them every time you want to escape the monochrome world and expose your creativity.
Get your inspiration from fashion designers, stylists, and even your favorite celebrities, and create casual fall outfits that stand out! You don’t need a lot of money to put together an astonishing outfit, but you do need style and the perfect accessories. And always try to get out of your comfort zone! Wear high-rise jeans with cropped sweaters for a cute outfit, oversized blazers with long dresses for a nonchalant look, or a lace skirt with a delicate sweater for a touch of sophistication. Have your attitude and class with you. They can make or break any outfit. Be daring, be creative, and always be yourself!
The time has come to look into high-quality clothing not only for fashion-related reasons but also to do your part in the battle against climate change. Yes, high-quality clothes may be more expensive but they look better, last longer, and are eco-friendly. Most of the high-quality garments available on the market are made from natural materials or sustainable fabrics. Manufacturers invest more time and money into their design and creation for quality pieces made to last.
One of our biggest mistakes is that we expect clothes to be cheap. Trends are changing every few weeks and we see ourselves caught in a vicious circle of buying more and more clothes just because they are affordable. We need to change our expectations and understand that conscious fashion is not only a trend. It’s the future of fashion. If you want to make more educated fashion choices and spend your hard-earned money wisely, check out our tips on how to shop for high-quality clothes:
Natural fabrics are the first sign that you are looking at high-quality clothes. Whether it is organic cotton, linen, hemp, or silk, you know you’re in the presence of a garment made to last. Moreover, unlike synthetic materials, such as polyester and nylon, natural materials feel better against the skin, wash better, and are biodegradable. You can also opt for newer sustainable fabrics like Tencel and modal and, when the winter comes, choose the comfortable and warm wool. It is best to avoid synthetic blends unless the amount of synthetic is under 5%. This is a guarantee the material is high-quality and the piece of clothing will retain its shape for a longer time.
Look for clothes made with thick fabrics. The density of a material says a lot about the garment’s quality. Light fabrics that allow the light to pass through wear more easily than denser materials that pack a lot of fiber into them. See-through fabrics are a sign of low-quality clothing unless they were made with this purpose in mind. While thicker fabrics can’t be automatically associated with better fabrics, they sure add to the quality of a piece of clothing due to their increased durability. Additionally, fabrics with more weight hang more nicely and add a touch of elegance to the entire look.
We prefer our clothes to be soft. However, a soft material doesn’t necessarily equal high-quality material. Most of the high-quality fabrics get softer with time. Linen and hemp may not feel as soft as nylon but they are undoubtedly the better choice. Natural materials get softer and softer the more you wear and wash them, so don’t be put off if they don’t feel extremely soft when you buy them. Take, for example, jeans. You may think that jeans that are a bit stiff and mildly uncomfortable are low-quality jeans. However, this is not true. The stiffness of your jeans is actually a sign that they are made from a material with a higher thread count. Low-quality jeans may feel soft but that’s because they have been pre-washed with chemicals. Fabrics that feel suspiciously soft from the first touch are usually pre-treated and washed before getting into the stores, so you can expect them to fall apart faster than anticipated.
Turn the garment inside out and analyze the seams and stitching. Seams should be straight and neatly finished. You will never find low-quality clothes with impeccable seams. They will most likely have uneven seams with threads hanging off, and hems that haven’t been sewn or finished with extra fabric. The work will look sloppy and expose the garment to fraying. Stitching too is a great indication of quality pieces. Sturdy threads and reinforced stitches are some of the fastest ways to identify a high-end piece of garment. Just pull the fabric on either side of the seam. If everything seems secure and you don’t see any gaps, you are probably in the presence of a durable piece of clothing with hardy stitches.
Whether we are talking about zippers, buttons, or thread, the details make the difference. For example, high-quality clothes usually have zippers hidden under a fabric placket. Exposed zippers increase the risk of the clothing getting caught in it. However, since they are the cheaper option, fast fashion often resorts to them. Another clear indication of the amount of thought put into the manufacturing is the presence of extra buttons sewn on a piece of spare thread. This means the fabric composition is reliable enough for the garment to have a long life and eventually need repair. Check to see if the panels of the fabric or leather are connected with glue or stitches. If glue is at play, you’re looking at a low-quality piece of clothing.
Aya Morrison is embracing everything that conscious fashion has to offer. We work with sustainable fabrics and many of our clothes are made from recycled materials. We believe in saving the world one garment at a time and make sure every piece of clothing receives our full attention. Our clothes are durable and polished inside out and are designed to last. Every piece of clothing available is meticulously inspected to meet the high standards of quality and we strive to deliver collections that enrich your wardrobe and protect the environment.]]>
Maybe the world stood still for a while, but fashion didn’t! The trends are constantly changing, reinventing the past and sending us hints from the future. Of course, you want to keep up with them. Because you’re a true fashionista! However, this doesn’t mean you need to compromise your comfort. 2021 is about keeping it simple, light, and captivating. It is also about creativity, exploration, and style. Check out our outfit ideas for 2021 that will help you feel cool, comfortable, and, more importantly, yourself!
Go all-in with African prints and let the world hear you roar! Be bold, be fun, be adventurous and discover Aya Morrison’s new Heritage Collection. Designed as an ode to the traditional African prints, Aya Morrison creates a colorful and versatile clothing collection for women of all ages, shapes, and sizes. African prints will never go out of style due to their powerful message and sublime colors and can be reinvented every year, if cared for properly, by simply adding new statement accessories. Whether you combine a maxi African print skirt with a white bralette or choose to go all African print from head to toe, your presence will be noticed and admired. Made with smooth and flowy fabrics, like chiffon and satin, the pieces are designed to go perfectly with everything from jeans and sweaters to black trousers and blazers. The fabric will caress your skin and makes you feel relaxed while exuding femininity, strength, and determination. You can easily mix and match the collection items. Complete your outfit with sexy accessories, heels, or combat boots, and even throw on a coat for the colder days of autumn and winter.
Ready to go back to the office? Do it with style and elegance. Glamour says forget about your classic work deux-piece and choose an oversized suit! Add a white t-shirt underneath the blazer, and for the final touch, match your creative outfit with a pair of fashionable sneakers. Professional, yet irresistible! Sometimes less is more even in fashion, and this minimalist look is all the proof you need! Your perfect combination is both work and Instagram-ready! Take that selfie! You know you want to!
You can never go wrong with this comfy outfit that will make you feel at ease while exuding high levels of sexiness and playfulness. Grab your favorite jeans, add a chunky knitted cardigan, and you will look as pretty as those French girls who seem to never give a thought to their wardrobe, yet they always look exquisite. Want to be en vogue? According to Elle, the skinny jean is dead, so choose a pair of wide-leg jeans and add a crop top in the color of your choice. Only one word: stylish! Don’t forget your sunglasses and go conquer the world.
If you’re going for a more classical look, here is a bit of outfit inspiration. Take your Millennial-style skinny jeans (this is one immortal trend regardless of what Gen Z is saying) and pair them with a turtleneck. You’re already hot, but if you want to make it business-appropriate, add a blazer on top. Don’t be shy with the blazer! Forget about black, grey, or neutral tone blazers. Be bold! Choose a neon blazer or at least a pink one. Grab your stilettos, and there you have it: you look like a celebrity… who has an office job.
Forget about denim (just for a while) and buy yourself a pair of wide-leg trousers. Match them with a midriff flossing blouse, a wardrobe staple in 2021, and there you have it – a nonchalantly sexy approach to a classic outfit. Enrich this cute outfit idea with a pair of square-toe sandals just like Lanvin and Paco Rabanne did for their resort 2022 collections. Keep your colors neutral or warm, and add your pop of color with the sandals. Yes, you can wear electric green sandals with black trousers and a beige blouse. You will become a work of art!
One would never think that all the puffy and baggy additions to one’s outfit would be among the sexiest outfit ideas one could have. Well, one is wrong! Vogue says - and we agree - the puff or balloon sleeves are here to stay. Despite their voluminous appearance and romantic vibe, they are a match made in heaven with baggy paper-bag pants. Take a look at the Isabel Marant fashion show and see for yourself how great they look together. While, at first, the cinched at the waist and cropped at the ankle pants may not find their place in your life, if you just give them a chance and wear it with a puff-sleeve blouse, you will see their purpose in your wardrobe. The final touches? A pair of suede sandals and a canvas tote. You can also wear them with a tucked-in tank, denim jacket, or a black blazer. Do not let these pants intimidate you! You got this!
If you’re in the mood for a summer romance, start your escapade with a cute yet sexy outfit. Choose a delicate printed dress in tones of powdery pink or blue, and match it with a pair of simple flat sandals created with just a few slim straps. Whether flowery, leafy, or abstract, the print of your dress goes perfectly with a shell necklace that will very quickly become la pièce de résistance of this summer ensemble. Walk like a princess, smile like a mermaid, and elegantly thank your audience for their compliments. Because with this outfit, you will undoubtedly become the center of attention.
The fashion industry takes a toll on the environment and accounts for 10% of global carbon emissions. The production, manufacturing, and transportation of clothes generate a lot of greenhouse gasses while the synthetic fibers used to create many of our clothes are derived from fossil fuel.
Aya Morrison is aware of all this and so much more and has pledged to be an environmentally responsible company. Our team practices sustainable and ethical fashion and uses natural and recycled fabrics to create fashionable pieces that can be worn again and again if cared for properly. Learn how to extend the life of your clothes and be fashionable by being sustainable.
The label is key to understanding how to properly take care of clothing. After all, it is called a “care label” for a reason. Make sure you read it properly and follow the instructions if you want to prolong the life of your garments. Proper care is the first step towards clothes that feel and look new for a longer time. If you read the care instructions carefully, you will get all the information you need about the fabric content and wash recommendations. You will learn an awful lot about what garments should be washed on delicate, cold, or other washing machine cycles. Moreover, it will help you identify what clothes need to be taken to the dry cleaner instead of being thrown into the washing machine and what garments should be kept away from the dryer.
It also is useful to know that washing different fabrics together is not the best idea. You probably already sort your clothes based on their colors but you should also try taking into account their fabric. It is never a good idea to wash jeans together with your delicate clothing or have athletic garments with tea towels and bedding. Respect the recommended temperatures to make sure you avoid the spread of bacteria and avoid damaging the fabric.
Don’t wash your clothes after just one wear. For example, jeans certainly shouldn’t be washed if you’ve worn them only for a couple of hours. Now, we don’t suggest walking around with dirty clothes but think twice before deciding if a sweater or a pair of pants need to be thrown into the washing machine. The washing process is not gentle on your clothes regardless of the cycle selected. As long as a piece of clothing is tumbling inside the machine and exposed to hot water, its life cycle is shortened and the process has an impact on the quality of the fabric.
Washing your garments often will eventually lead to discoloration, shrinking, and even stretching beyond repair. Moreover, it will add up to your electricity bill and have an environmental impact in the long term. Most of your clothes like sweaters, cardigans, jeans, and skirts may benefit greatly from simply airing them out for a while instead of constantly washing them. Just use wire hangers or a few hooks to air them for 24 hours and your garments will be odor-free and ready to be worn again. If you have to wash them, try using cold water and a mild detergent. This combination will protect the fibers over time and prolong their life.
Air dry your clothes whenever possible! The sun does a much better job at drying your clothes than a dryer and helps you save energy, care for your clothing, and reduce the impact on the environment. Use hangers, a clothesline, or a drying rack and expose your clothes to the power of the sun. Direct sunlight will do your garments well, add a touch of freshness, and help you prevent your clothes from shrinking, fading, and falling apart.
The heat of a dryer will eventually damage the clothes even if they are made from quality materials. Delicate fabrics are the ones that suffer the most under the merciless hands of the dryer while elastic activewear will soon lose its elasticity and eventually its use. If you dry your clothes outside make sure you remember to turn your garments inside out before exposing them to sunlight because colors tend to fade in the face of a brightening sun, especially in the summer.
We know it’s easy to just add bleach to your load of clothes or pour it directly on the stain but bleach will harm your clothes. Think about it! You use it because it is very effective on various stains and it does such a good job of brightening and whitening your garments. While its chemical ingredients will be able to remove the stain of wine or blood from your clothes, they will also affect the fabric and damage the clothing. Instead of using bleach, you can use baking soda for white clothes and/or vinegar for the removal of stains. Furthermore, it has been proven that vinegar is a great fabric softener.
To make sure your stain will not affect your clothes long-term, act fast! Stains are unavoidable but if you postpone washing your clothes they may also be permanent. Treat the stain as soon as possible with a stain removal pen. If you don’t have a stain treatment at hand, you can always try rinsing the stain with cold water and treat the stain as soon you get home and have access to a stain remover.
No, mending is not passé. Aya Morrison and many fashion brands believe that mending is the newest trend in fashion. And we hope it is here to stay! Whether you go to your local tailor or learn basic mending yourself, your clothes deserve a new chance at life. A small imperfection like a rip or overuse should no longer be a reason to throw away clothing. Consumers are now encouraged to mend their clothing by themselves or sustain the business of local tailors by bringing them more work.
Simple repairs will not take away from the design but enrich it with a new personality. Mended clothes are not defective clothes. Whether you have them stitched or patched, they will become a visual asset and a statement of your dedication to sustainability and protecting the environment. The same goes for shoes. Local cobblers can’t wait to breathe new life into a pair of old shoes and put their skills to good use. When made from quality materials and exposed to expert craftsmanship, shoes and clothing can enjoy long journeys if they are properly cared for.]]>Even though most fashion presentations were held digitally or for a small number of press and buyers, we still got the scoop on the summer fashion trends in the spectacular world of high-end clothing. And while not many can afford Prada or Dior clothes, we can definitely follow their lead and find more accessible yet impactful key pieces that resonate with the trends of summer. Check out the hottest 8 summer 2021 fashion trends to shop now:
It seems the lockdown period many countries had to endure because of the COVID-19 pandemic has made an impact on the fashion trends of summer. Otherwise, how can we explain the bralette “epidemic” that is conquering every runaway in the world? Just take a look at the Alberta Ferretti, Versace, Hugo Boss, and Dior spring/summer 2021 collections and you will understand what we are talking about! However, you got to admit they look so cute and sexy that no one can resist them! It’s time to pump up those biceps and triceps because this trend is merciless!
It seems the crop tops are here to stay and no one can really argue with their sexiness. Illustrating the fun and crazy ambiance of summer holidays, crop tops go perfectly under a blazer jacket just like they’ve worn it at the Hermes fashion show. If you want to take the craziness one step further, add some puffy sleeves to your crop top like Isabel Marant did and you’ve got yourself one of the most fabulous and extravagant pieces for summer. Choose some crop tops in vibrant colors and you’ll be the soul of the party everywhere you go (yes, even at the office!).
And since we’ve mentioned puffy sleeves earlier, we must insist on this topic and let you know that this is the biggest trend of summer 2021. Not everyone will agree with us but this is where we stand and we will hold our ground! This larger-than-life detail and classic piece can turn any attire into a statement and guarantee a chic summer presence. You can wear your impetuous and voluminous sleeves with statement trousers or tiny shorts to show off your toned legs. Either way, you will be seen!
The floss dance may not be in style anymore but midriff flossing will soon be everywhere thanks to Victoria Beckham, Versace, and Christopher Esber. Also known as wrap-around straps, this series of crisscrossed and wraparound details that look just like floss can be an addition to skirts, bralettes, or even maxi dresses. Any long sleeve top stands out in the crowd when it has crisscrossing cords emerging from it and is paired with a midi skirt or wide-leg trousers! Add a pair of open-toe sandals and there you have it: all the cool details you need for a trendy summer ensemble.
Another summer trend that aims to expose our skin in a sexy and elegant way, cutouts focus on the waist, and sometimes they surprise with an appearance on the hips or thighs. A demanding trend that requires a bold attitude, cutouts are now incorporated in every piece of clothing you can think of, including gowns and slippery silks. While Fendi, Isabel Marrant, and Carolina Herrera decided to reveal the area underneath the rib cage, Versace and Kenzo took things a bit further and exposed the beautiful curves of hips and thighs.
A trend that may not be for everyone, the fishnet is all about layering and shopping smart. What a difference a net makes! Just throw it over a swimsuit, bodysuit, or rollneck, and you will cancel any trace of anonymity and banal. Netting is here to reinvent your wardrobe whether you will wear it over a slip dress or on its own. Bottega Veneta made knitted dresses relevant again combing their sensuality with a level of comfort that comes from the oh, so-needed cool breezes.
Finally, something that will make everybody happy! Maxi dresses are never actually out of style but this is the summer where they receive the attention they truly deserve. Paired with the sheer trend, the maxi dresses of 2021 are floaty and ethereal, romantic and sensual. Dior, Valentino, Michael Kors, and Alberta Ferretti, all invaded the runway with glamorous and mystical dresses that bring the Riviera and glitz to the city. If the purest form of sheer dresses is not exactly appealing, you can easily combine them with a mini dress, your chic bikini, or even throw a blazer over the top. As long as your dress floats, you’re trending!
Glitter is making a comeback in 2021, all the way from the 80s. This is your moment to shine and sparkle like a goddess in metallic silver dresses and twinkly trouser suits. However, forget about stilettos as the go-to accessory for your sequin gowns! Celine decided to pair the glittering gown with sneakers and a baseball cap, while Balmain tamed the frenzy of sequins by inviting the models to walk barefoot. If this seems too much, then you haven’t seen Louis Vuitton’s presentation where sequins were best friends with a T-shirt or Chanel’s idea to pair them with flats. So, grab your sequin dress and nothing else and go wild!
While the summer 2021 fashion trends may not be everyone’s cup of tea, you shouldn’t despair. Just because you can’t rock a sheer dress or wraparound straps doesn’t mean your style is compromised. Check out the perfect illustration of summer 2021 trends at Aya Morrison, a high-end fashion shop that keeps up with the trends but has something for everyone. Whether you’re looking for bold colors, quality materials, extravagant prints, or sexy tank tops, Aya Morrison, delivers with style and elegance!

TIP ONE: Pear or Triangle Shape
Wondering how to slim/flatter a bottom-heavy figure when picking out your swimsuit? Don't go wild on bottom if you want to slim the hips honey. The less going on there, the better! However, do bring focus up top with a top in a brighter color, or with fun details, colorful print or a pretty pattern. Also, go for a fairly high-cut bikini bottom as this will create the illusion of longer, leaner legs. How about wanting to boost a smaller-on-top figure? You want to go for an underwire bra bikini top as it gives shape to small busts. So, like I mentioned above, go extra with colors and… go for the ruffles, the pleating and the beading. But never opt for a bandeau style top as that’ll flatten you out even more. Do these and voila, you’re beach-ready.
TIP TWO: Athletic Shape
So, athletic body shapes tend to combine broad shoulders with a straight silhouette, having less difference between waist, hip and bust measurements. As such, when it comes to bathing suits for athletic body types, you’re aspiring to balance out your proportions by visually reducing the width of the shoulders, while enhancing the natural curves of your hips and butt. You can do this by selecting dark swimwear/ bikini tops with fancy, colorful bottoms to draw attention down from shoulders to the hips and legs. As far as your bikini tops, keep your broad shoulders in mind. Thick straps are better than thin ones. Plunging necklines minimize broad shoulders, while emphasizing cleavage. Try adding some padding to the bra as well. High-sides and tie-side bottoms will draw attention to long legs and add definition to the hips. You can also add definition to small hips and thicker waists with high-waistline bottoms or a curve-enhancing cutout monokini. Avoid strapless/bandeau tops as they can make broad shoulders seem wider than they really are. Enhance the curve of a small butt with rusched bottoms and a cheek-revealing cut.
TIP THREE: Round or Oval Shape
Now, we all have that good ole mid-section problem and have to hide it at the beach or pool by all means. So, if you want some belly control, don't go for shine. Run from it! It highlights every lump and bump and we don’t want to look like that whale at the beach or poolside. Matte should be your best friend. We also suggest you skip tankinis unless you find one that flows from under the bust with an un-clingy fabric. And of course, do show some good, sexy skin. A high-cut leg or low-cut top draws eyes away from your middle and will make you that bombshell beach babe.
TIP FOUR: Diamond or Inverted Triangle Shape
Like me, if you want to support a big bust, please, by all means possible, axe out triangle tops from your list. Especially if you’re bigger than a D-cup because triangle tops offer little to no support. Also, don't do high necklines unless you want a ‘balloonboob’. Ha! didn't think so. Now, halter tops should also be your BFF. If the top isn’t a halter, opt for an underwire bra… in fact an underwire or a hidden bra is a must if your top isn’t going to be a halter. Reds or blacks are also good for tops as they offer a slimming illusion.
TIP FIVE: Hourglass Shape
The famous hourglass shape is the most in-trend shape this century, although it’s been most women’s dream shape for centuries before now… aka the coca-cola body shape. I say, flaunt it if you have it, yes queen, that’s what I propose. And if you want to flatter these sinful curves, vertical or angled stripes can be really sexy. Yes, do not run away from stripes. And do not run from bikinis either. Just avoid the thin stringy ties that can dig in and create bulges that also hurt really bad. Lastly, do try a wrap style if you have a thick middle (just like me) — it's a waist whittler for real!
xoxo,
Helena

]]>Need I say more? This is literally a necessity for every Lady, periodt! A black dress is timeless, and a lady of any age should have one or maybe 3. A high neckline and a semi-modest length offer you maximum versatility from day to night. Add heels and accessories and it’s a wrap to that party. A short black dress can also be worn to clubs or for a dinner date. Do not forget to accessorize with a neck piece it as this would bring out the beauty of the dress.
A classic pair of black pumps will never fail you or your outfits. They’re the perfect shoe option to wear for your 9-to-5, happy hour, or a weekend date night with jeans. Make sure to have a few pumps in your closet! Stylist Nanda G says pointed-toe styles are pure magic when it comes to making your legs look longer and leaner.
A staple white tee is versatile and cool, and it anchors statement pieces like printed shorts, colored denim and layers perfectly under sweaters. It’s cool and can be worn any day of the year. You can style it with skinny jeans and pair of heels. Start your outfit off with a clean slate.
Jeans that never go out of style? Dark wash denim. Perfect for dressing up or down, skinny jeans in an ultra-dark rinse will be your go-to for every season and in every shape.
Borrowed from the boys but in better prints and colors, the button-up shirt always strikes a balance between looking casual and polished. Wear it with jeans or a pencil skirt depending on where you need to be.
Stylist tip: “Take your button-up up a notch by choosing one in a luxe material like viscose, Tencel or silk.” — Stylist Jennifer M.
A knee-length skirt is versatile enough to be casual, work-friendly and appropriate for more formal settings. We call that a win, win, win.

The most universally-flattering dress of all, a wrap dress looks good on everyone. Really. Pair yours with pumps for a dressy occasion or dress it down with fashion sneakers.
A jean jacket is a timeless layering piece that can be worn season after season. A classic medium wash is the most versatile option.
Stylist tip: “Look for a jean jacket that fits snugly on your shoulders, but still has some room for sweaters in the fall and sundresses in the summer.” — Stylist Brittany M.
The ankle boot is the shoe for any season that’s way easier to slip into (and pack) than their taller sister. Go for a peep-toe style in the warmer months and a closed-toe style in the cooler months.
Stylist tip: “Experiment with heel heights from low and blocky to taller and stiletto-esque to land a totally different vibe with your ankle boot.” — Stylist Jennifer M.
Whether they’re tie-waist trousers or pencil-straight, a pair of black pants is another foundation piece to stock up on.
Stylist tip: “Don’t be afraid to invest in these. A great pair will stay in your closet for years and years.” — Stylist Jennifer M.
The perfect knit sweater works with everything—from a pair of broken-in boyfriend jeans for the weekend to a pleated, feminine skirt for a night out. If you find one you like, get one in every color.
Stylist tip: “Look for one that you can reach for in a hurry. This means minimal patterns and neutral colors so you don’t have to put much thought into how it will work with the rest of your look.” — Stylist Anne R.
